It’s the Monster Mash

It’s just about Halloween. As if the rows and rows of bite-sized candies and many varied costumes weren’t enough of a clue, one other season set of items has popped up. That’s General Mills’ monster cereals. This year is different though. Normally, Count Chocula and Franken Berry are around all year long. (Or at least they used to be. I’m not a fan of either so I never buy them.) Boo Berry had been popping up each Halloween though and I always pick up a box. This year though, they decided to bring back the 2 other cereals that I haven’t seen since my childhood, Fruit Brute and Fruity Yummy Mummy. (Both have “The Return of” in front of the names.) I was excited to see them and had to pick up boxes of those as well.

I can remember having a light switch plate with Fruit Brute on it. Hearing that these cereals were back brought back a lot of nostalgia. It’s good to see something I remember and enjoy from my childhood. This is what the cereals originally looked like.

I think I actually like the old Fruit Brute look better but the modern versions of the other 2 are cool.
