RuPaul’s Drag Race – And They’re Off…

Season 3 of RuPaul’s Drag Race has started. Tonight the started off with an audition show and then went on to the regular show and the “Untucked” behind the scenes show. The audition show was interesting. Some were quite bad as you would expect. The best part of it was the auditions for the “Pit Crew”. Of the auditions they showed, my favorite (gotten from the video at Logo TV’s page for the show) was:

It makes you wonder why they had to blur that out when they showed it. In the end, the choices were the guys:

I can’t say I object, especially to the guy with the facial hair. Now we move on to the first episode. As usual, there’s lots of drama and you can already see Raja (who I personally don’t think is all that great) is moving in as one of their favorites after the auditions and first competitions. Returning as a 13th contestant was Shangela who (with no real surprise to viewers) ends up in the bottom 2 just as she did in the first episode last season. After coming just short of a real fight during the Lip Sync For Your Life, she managed to stick around this time. Hopefully she’ll leave soon though. A number of the drag queens are quite good looking out of make-up, especially India Ferra. It should be interesting to see how things go this season as personalities start to flesh out each week. There’s 3 “plus size queens” this season so we’ll have to see how they survive this season as well. Only time will tell. Even if it’s a train wreck, it should be an interesting one to watch.
